Our last day of our fantastic holiday

We have reached our last day of our fantastic holiday.

It has gone by so quickly, looking forward to seeing you all.

Today we went on an organised tour it took us up the peak tram to the top of the sky deck, unfortunately it was misty and we couldn't see anything.

Then we went to Aberdeen and went on a sampan boat to see the floating restaurant and fishing boats were people actually live on them.

We finished the tour at stanly market.

Wednesday 5th March

Happy Birthday Mam, hope you have a lovely day,

Today we got the underground to Mong kok where there is a market where you can buy anything. It is unreal. We bought a few things.

Then we got the ferry to central where we rode on the mid town escalator to soho which is on Hong Kong island. I wasn't keen but Pete enjoyed a pint in the Yorkshire pudding bar.

Monday 3rd March Hong Kong

After a 9 hour flight we arrived in Hong Kong.

What an amazing place. 

We are on a tight budget now, so this is our hotel and this is where we are eating for meals. Haha

We went on a trip to tai o fishing village. People live in those houses.fishermen and their family's have lived their for years. It is the real Hong Kong.

Then we went to see the big Budda and Po lin monastery on Lantau island. We travelled up on a cable car. It was quite foggy but a good day. Would recommend it.

Sunday 2nd march Ian and Sue's house

Today we went to see Pete's cousin. 

Ian, Sue and their family have lived in a lovely area called North Lakes near Redcliffe.

On the outskirts of Brisbane for the last 7 years.

The area is so lovely, you can see why they moved there.

Their Daughter Rachel got married at the weekend, so they had had a busy time, but they took the time  out to show us around the area where they live.

It was so lovely to meet them, and to catch up and here about their family and how well their are doing.

1st march Brisbne

Today we walked over story bridge and had breakfast at Tuppeys on dockside. It was lovely.

We travelled on the ferry to south bank again and as it was so hot we went to beach street. It is a man made beach right on the rivers edge. It is amazing.

Did a little more shopping and then went to a jazz night over the river. The band were very good, it was a great night.

Brisbane

We Have been in Brisbane a few days now, and we are starting to slow down a little.

We have been down the river on the red ferry and did a little shopping yesterday. In the city centre the broncos were signing autographs. There were well fit.

We went to south bank and I must say it doesn't look like our south bank.

Sky rail rainforest day trip 26th Feb

Today we have a trip organised to go on a cable car up into the rainforest and then travel back down by train.

The cable car took 40 mins to arrive at a village called Kuranda there we looked around and had a coffee.

Then looked around the wildlife park, watched an aborigine dance show, and tried to throw a boomerang. pete was good at it. I got it in the air but it didn't come back.

We also went on an army duck, that was amazing how it travels on land and in water.

then it took one and a half hours to travel back down on the train. Nice and relaxing.

Chill day 25th Feb

Today we are having a chilled day. 

We have totally chilled today. Just what we needed as it is far too hot.

We walked along the 4 mile beach, well not all the way.

Then we went and chilled by the pool for the rest of the day.

We then went to see the big fish called the grouper getting fed. 

Unfortunately he didn't appear. So we watched the sunset eating prawns etc.

It was a lovely day.

Port Douglas

Today we went on a yacht  to the great barrier reef.

It was a bit rough going, luckily I took my travel tablets.

We went to an island called the low isles.

There was only 10 of us on the island it was like paradise.

I know how Robinson Caruso felt.

We went snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef. It was lovely

Port Douglas

Arrived at hotel. 

It is Beautiful 5star.

This is. Our little bit of paradise.

The weather outside is like walking into a sauna.

Royal botanical gardens

We hopped on a ferry to circular quay.

We walked to the royal botanical gardens and then to mrs mcguires chair.

The gardens where beautiful and the view from the chair is amazing.
